Checked fuses but can not find relays
SOURCE: turn signals and emergency flashers do not work
The turn signal flasher assembly is located under the driver's side of the instrument panel, on the front of the fuse panel, or under the center section of the instrument panel in the relay/flasher block. This is ,basically, the controller for your turn signals.

You may have two relays one for hazards and one for turn indicators.
Hi,
If I understand you right based on your post/description, the signal lights would still turn on even if any or both of the flasher relays are removed. Should this be the case, then the signal lights are not getting the power from the flasher relays but from the brake light circuit.
Perhaps your concern is not with any of the flasher, but simply missing or loose ground more particularly with the rear lights. Perhaps you could try determining which of the wires for the brake lights and signal lights (as they come out of the light assembly) would be ground . A test and even possibly a temporary workaround is to hard wire a second ground connection from the determined ground wire of the lights and attach it to any conveniently located bolt or screw to the body. it may be to your advantage to do this on all the rear lights assembly.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Sounds like the flasher unit to me. Normally the emergency flasher and turn signal are separate.

it sounds like the multi function switch quit,
the turn signal handle your using is the turn signal switch,it is called a multi function switch because it now also does more like your dimmer switch or cruise control.you need to remove three screws under the steering cover to get to it

i own a trooper and have discovered that in the left rear inside under the jack storage is a trailer harness to hook up a trailer, this white plug caught fire from corrosion from not being used or sealed from moisture, and this caused my shorting of my turn signals, fuses blowing, so do check this location for issues.. hope this helps.
