There is either a problem with vacuum to a actuator for the blend doors or a vacuum problem to the a/c programmer. It is also possible that the a/c programmer "control head" is bad.

Why is air coming from all three areas (vents/floor/defrost) regardless of setting?

There is actually two blend door actuator that control the opening and closing of your vents. Ine is located under the drivers side dash board. The is on the passengers side. Both are electric and I didnt have the money to replace them so i removed them and turned it with a pliers to allow heat to come out of bothe sides of the vent. Then come summer flip the little bar back the other way to A/C
Hope this helps

2000 Ford Taurus SEL ac/heat blows through floor and defrost vents only

There is no vacuum to the controls. Look for a vacuum hose that is no longer connected to the engine intake manifold and repair it.

I have a 97 chevy k2500 the fan works, heat and ac works, the floor vents and dash vents work but cant get any air to blow out of the defrost vents. help i have replaced the control panel, still have...

Your vehicle uses electronically controlled blend doors to direct th air flow from defrost to vent and to the floor . If the door motor is bad then it will stay at a fixed position so you will not get the air to flow out the defrost ducts. There are at least two of these one for air blend and one for fresh air. They are located on the passenger side usually under the plastic cover and have a wire harness that plug in and are usually shaped like a piece of pie.

2000 mercury grand marquis HVAC air distribution problem. Air comes out defrost vents regardless of control settings.

there is a vacuum motor that controls direction for air flow. when there is a vacuum leak, the control door defaults to the defrost vent. the motor, vacuum lines and directional control knob must be inspected. most of the time i have found that there is a vacuum line broken. purchasing a repair manual will help locate and discribe the system.

What is a blender/ it is suposed to a part of the heater area

The "blender" would refer to the blend actuators that change the flow of air from floor to vent to defrost or combinations. Properly working blend doors will allow you to direct air to the dash vents, the floor, the defroster, the floor and defroster or the floor and dash vents. If it is not working the heater will still work but you will hae no control oer where the air flows.

Air flow will not change from dash vents to floor or defrost regardless of setting on dial. Air temp and all is fine

Could be a dead control module (dial circuit board) or it could be the wire that moves the "divider" of the air..

No dashboard heat output

The climate control was poorly designed on these cars.

There is only heat on the floor and defrost settings, due to the layout of the ductwork.
