Did you have the oil changed lately ?
Oil Life Left
Oil life left percentage is based on the information the DIC receives from a class 2 message from the PCM. The DIC displays the current percentage of the GM Oil Life System. When the oil needs changing the change engine oil indicator in the message center turns ON. When the engine oil is changed, reset the oil life left. Refer to GM Oil Life System Resetting in Maintenance and Lubrication.
GM Oil Life System Resetting
When the system has calculated that oil life has been diminished, it will indicate that an oil change is necessary. A CHANGE ENGINE OIL message will come on. Change the engine oil as soon as possible within the next 600 miles (1 000 km). It is possible that, if driving under the best conditions, the oil life system may not indicate that an oil change is necessary for over a year. However, the engine oil and filter must be changed at least once a year and at this time the system must be reset.
If the system is ever reset accidentally, change the engine oil at 3,000 miles (5 000 km) since last oil change.
How to Reset the Engine Oil Life System
If the vehicle does not have optional Driver Information Center (DIC) , do the following:
Turn the ignition to ON, with the engine off.
Fully press and release the accelerator pedal slowly three times within five seconds.
Turn the key to OFF. If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message comes back on when you start the vehicle, the Engine Oil Life System has not reset. Repeat the procedure.
If the vehicle has the optional DIC, do the following:
Turn the ignition to ON, with the engine off.
Press the MODE button until the DIC reads OIL LIFE LEFT/HOLD SET TO RESET.
Press and hold the SET button until 100 percent is displayed. You will hear three chimes and the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message will go off.
Turn the key to OFF.
If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message comes back on when you start the vehicle the Engine Oil Life System has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

Complete Answer 1- Turn on the ignition without starting the car 2- You will get warning messages on the display (including the "change oil soon" or "oil change required" message) press reset for each warning till you get the Odometer displayed. 3- press the setup button until "press reset for system check" appears 4- hit the reset button (need to do this fairly quickly, if you end up back at the odometer go back to step 3) 5- the system will scroll through the different things that are wrong that it has detected, you should go to "oil life XX%, Hold Rest New" message first if nothing else more major has been detected. When on this message hold the reset down unit you get the message "if new oil hold reset". 6 - hold the reset down till the message "oil life set to 100%" appears (note have seen different wording in some models) 7 - system should scroll through any remaining messages and then return to the odometer reading Switch the car off and on and confirm that the message does not reappear. Have seen some instances where will not reset, if so take to your dealer.
