Replace head light bulb on driver side 2002 Focus ZTW. How do I remove the old bulb, looks like it has a retaining spring (wire) that needs to be removed. Once I get it out will the electrical socket and bulb follow? After I replace the bulb, how do I get the retainer wire back in place? [email protected]

Usually, you can loosen the wire spring by moving it to different sides (up/down/left/right). It may be up and then left for example. When you put it back in, you move in the reverse sequence, for example, right and then down.

SOURCE: 2002 Ford Taurus Driver Side tail light bulb replacement

open the trunk.
pull back the cover on the side you need to change, there are usually 3 black plastic nut you have to remove before doing this.
after the trunk interior cover is pulled off there are 3 nuts, 11mm wrench or socket will take them off. pull the taillight assembly out and twist the socket out containing the bulb that is blown. the bulb just pulls out of the socket. while the bulb is out you should inspect the socket for corrosion, it wont hurt to clean it up and put some die electric grease in there

Removing low beam bulb on 05 subaruoutback

Whether they become damaged in an accident or simply burn out over time, your Subaru Outback's headlights may eventually need to be replaced. Fortunately, once you've purchased the right replacement bulb for your model year, performing the repair yourself is relatively easy. These instructions only apply to Outback models made after 2000.

  1. Undo the clips on the air intake ducts using a screwdriver and remove the duct from the engine compartment (driver's side bulb removal only.)

  2. 2

Loosen the secured clip on the washer tank with a screwdriver and slide the tank horizontally to allow easier access to the headlight assembly (passenger's side bulb removal only.)

  3. 3

Turn the bulb cover counterclockwise and remove it from the assembly.

  4. 4

Disconnect the headlight electrical connector and undo the assembly retaining spring.

  5. 5

Pull the old bulb directly out of the socket and replace it with the new one. Press the retaining spring back into place and reattach the electrical connector.

  6. 6

Replace the bulb cover, and then turn on the engine. Test the new headlight to make sure it works before replacing the air intake duct or the washer tank and closing the hood.

I recently had some front drivers side damage to my car. The head light was smashed and the wheel well pushed in far enough that it occasionally rubs against the wheel when I make right turns. I've managed...

Mr Pinske,

The rear running lights aren't on the same circuit as the headlight(s). To get the car legal for
night driving, replace the broken headlight (both need to work to drive legally at night),
and tackle the running lights as a separate project.
First thing to check on the running lights - the bulbs. Why: incandescent light bulbs that are
on at the time of an impact cannot withstand the impact and the filaments can fail, so fixing
your rear running lights may simply be a matter of replacing the two light bulbs.
If the bulbs are ok, your accident has caused a wiring fault, which you will locate
between the ignition switch and the rear running lights.
Here's the manual on how to replace the headlight:

Non-European Style
See Figures 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
  1. Remove the headlamp trim panel attaching screws.

  1. Remove the headlamp bulb retaining screws. Do not touch the two headlamp aiming screws, (at the top and side of the retaining ring), or the headlamp aim will have to be readjusted.

Fig. 4: Once the retaining ring screws are removed, the ring can be pulled away

  1. Pull the bulb and ring forward then separate them. Unplug the electrical connector from the rear of the bulb.

To install:

  1. Plug the new bulb into the electrical connector.
  2. Install the bulb into the retaining ring and install the ring and bulb.
  3. Install the trim panel.
Replacing the European style headlights is a slightly different procedure.

How can i change the headlight bulb, dont know how to remove the lamp

These have the cartridge type bulbs...you need to pop the hood and look at the area where the headlight are...there will be a retainer that you need to turn ccw to allow you to remove the cartridge assembly, then when you replace the cartridge, be sure to seat it in the housing properly(it goes in only 1 way) and then replace the retainer....some parts stores may be able to help you in installing the assembly(especially if you purchase the bulbs there)

How to change low beam head light bulb on the passanger side of toyota corolla 4 door sedan 2002 model

you will have to go under the hood and get to the back side of the light assembly-there should be a cap or cover with wires going thru it. Remove that. If it is a cap it should rotate counter clockwise and come off. Your bulbs MAY have a spring or clip that holds them in-it will look like a bent paper clip. That is "supposed" to squeeze and release. Unplug old bulb, plug new bulb in (DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS PART) and reassemble

How do I change a headlight bulb in a 2003 focus?

Drivers side: Remove plastic cover on rear of headlamp by pushing down on long wire clip.Pull cover outwards and downwards to release the two clips on top of cover.
Remove wiring connection from rear of bulb.
You will now find that a mirror and torch will come in handy.Using the mirror you will see that the bulb is held in place with a spring clip that locates under a metal lug on the headlamp.Push the clip so that it releases from the lug and swing the clip away from the bulb.Remove old bulb.
Insert new bulb making sure the locating tab is in the correct position.[Use the mirror to check].
Replace spring clip.
Reconnect electrics.
Replace rear cover and long wire clip.

Passenger side:Little more difficult.Remove battery cover and follow the same instructions as for the drivers side. Not so much room to work this side though.
Do not touch the glass parts of the bulbs whilst changing them and if you do clean the glass with metholated spirits before fitting.

Replacing headlight bulb on a 2003 MPV

I just replaced my driver side halogen bulb in my 2005 Mazda MPV. I took me close to two hours - though the next time will likely take less than half of that. I'm not terribly mechanically inclined.

The instructions above are technically correct - however - here's a few tips.

1) Pull of the rubber boot gently without disrupting the bulb seating. Keep the bulb and clips in place!!!
2) Observe carefully how the metal clips are situated. Putting them back is the hardest part of the job if you don't understand this. The clips will attach at 3 o'clock (hooked part) and 9 o'clock (sqaure part). You might need to remove the screw slightly at 9 o'clock with a stubby Phillips in order for the clip to catch with it. Work the hooked part UNDER the catch at 3 o'clock and it will spring up in place. Trying to force it in proper will only hurt your finger.
3) Remove the small fuse panel first to provide more working room before you begin
4) You'll see a small rectangular hole crimped into the metal of the light base. This is at 6 o'clock (bottom) as you insert the bulb back into the socket. The bulb will rest in place but is easily knock out so mind how you insert the clip.
5) Have patience. If I could do it.. so can you!

Driver side headlight replacement

You need to take out the battery. Make sure you have the pass code for your radio because you will need it to reset the radio. It takes about 15-20 minutes to do the job. Avoid touching the tip of the light bulb
