Have to keep the rpms above 1000 or the engine dies with the a/c on. a/c is cold when on. one line from the compressor is cold while the other is hot. condensor fan runs. what is the problem?
When the a/c is on it "bogs" the engine because of the load. On fuel injected engines there is supposed to be a switch that gives the engine a little extra "boost" (when the a/c is on) so that it doesn't bog down. It sounds like yours is not working correctly. This is general info as I'm not a chevy Tracker expert.
The idle air control is not doing it`s job stepping the idle up when the ac is on.
