On a 92 S-10 p/u, how do I remove the dash in order to repair dash lights that are out?

YOU NEED TO REMOVE DASH CLUSTER AND REPAIR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BULB.YOU NEED A HAYNES REPAIR MANUAL TO SHOW YOU HOW TO REMOVE THE DASH CLUSTER.

Normally, when the dash lights are out, so too are the tail lights. Check your tail light fuse.

It would be very unusual for all of the lights to go out at one time. If in fact, this is what happened, you should be able to reach up behind the instruments and remove the lights one at a time.

this is a common problem and the dash cluster must be removed and sent out for repair, cost is about $175 to replace the LED (Light emitting diode) display that has burned out, this is a faxtory defect as far as this expert is concerned, it is not a fuse problem.

On the Lumina in the early 90's the blower is under the RIGHT SIDE of the dash, by the passenger's feet behind that shroud and up behind the panel of relays. it's a chore to get to without removing most of the dash but it can be done.

The front heater core in your truck is inside the environmental station, which is inside the dash, the entire dash will have to be removed in order to access it, in order to access the heater core itself you will have to remove the environmental station, requiring the draining of the engine coolant and the a/c system. Your best bet is to buy a Haynes or Chiltons manual and follow the steps to perform this repair, or take it to your favorite repair shop. The core itself should cost about 60 dollars. I did my own and it took a good 5 hours to remove and replace everything. I hope this helps, let me know.

2 screws at the top and then start prying. Be careful not to break the left vent. heater / radio cover must come off to get screws under there.

these work off a light sensor in the dash, it may be dusty / dirty, sensor may even have become defective, you will need to check if the switch is getting power in this position, before you can determine if it is a sensor problem. if the switch is getting power i would recommend taking to the dealer because the whole dash will have to be removed in order to to a repair.
