Traction light is on because the abs is on.Traction control needs to have the abs system fully functioning to work. Most common cause of abs light is a wheel speed sensor. As for your lights flickering the alternator may be going out or you have a poor ground connection.Would check battery cables first to make sure they are tight.

I would have the alternator checked, even if the alternator shows it is charging,it still could be the problem, the voltage needs to be checked at the battery, with the headlights on,and the ac on high blower setting. It should read 13.65 volts,to 14.25 volts,if it is any less than this,or over this, the alternator needs to be replaced.

Is the voltage moving up,and down just a hair?If so,then the alternator is the problem. When a diode,in the diode bridge has gone out,the voltage will go back and forth, this is what causes the lights to flicker,it is a ac voltage leak, and the alternator has diodes to turn ac voltage into dc voltage, cause the car runs on 12 volts dc directional voltage,it is a early stage of the alternator going out,and it is not good for any,of the components that run the engine.

Where is the Body Control Module (BCM) on a 2000 buick lesabre

It's not the BCM. The BCM doesn't affect the ignition switch power. But the ignition switch will affect the BCM. I would look to see why you don't have power to the ignition switch first. Fuse or wire.

ABS and traction control lights came on at the same time, is it a fuse?

Your friend is right. Your best bet is to have a scanner hooked up to your vehicle to determine the origin of the fault by retrieving any diagnostic trouble codes (DTC).

Transmission Traction "Off" light stays lit with Traction button

The traction control system is controlled through the Anti-lock brake system. The way it works is if one of your wheels starts spinning the ABS applys the brake to that wheel to transfer power to the oppsite wheel that is getting traction. If your ABS is bad then your Traction control won't work. To check it I would find a parking lot on a wet day. In an open space mash in the gas. if you hear the ABS system kick in and you don't squall the tires then your good. My guess is you won't. What I would be worried about is will my ABS work. When checking the traction control is a good time to check the ABS. Acclerate to around 15 mph, then mash the brake as your live depended on it. If you hear a motor run and feel a vibration or grind in the brake peddal, then it works.

1995 LeSabre ABS light

the anti-lock brake system is part and parcel of the traction control system. the abs has a $750.00 valve located in the engine bay on the right side (as you face the car from the front) the driver's side just behind the headlight. i had a mechanic who took it upon himself to remove, dismantle and clean and reassemble the unit, all to no avail but also without expense. the cost of the part was prohibitive since Blue Book on this car is just about $700.00. it will run and brake just fine without the abs or the traction control system either.
