A fuel pump failure will usually set no engine codes and you may get no ... If the engine is a 2.4 L SFI 4 Cyl, the schedule is every 105,000 miles. I do recommend 90,000 to 100,000 miles is the best time to replace.

could be a blown head gasket check for water in the oil or steamy exaust tht smells like antifreze

This is a job for a shop. You will need to replace the pump and all timing chain parts. If there is water in the oil, that is very BAD. Bearings dont like anti freeze.

where your distributor is. your oil pump is run by the distrubtor.

That much oil has got to be going somewhere!! If you are SURE its not being burned, it has a bad seal or gasket somewhere. Have you had it inspected underneath on a hoist??
