Hi , their is two different speed sensors on your vehicle one is the input speed sensor which is inside the transmission and the transmission will have to be removed to replace it the other one s the output speed sensor is located directly above the passenger side trans-axle shaft. your input sensor is the sensor which tells the transmission when to shift and the output speed sensor tells the speedometer what it should display and both those parts are fairly cheap they are around 15-25 dollars but just remember if your input speed sensor is bad it is gonna cost you a minimum of 1000 dollars to have a mechanic fix as the transmission needs to be removed hope this is what you needed

Their are two different speed sensors on that car .
One is INPUT SPEED SENSOR and other is OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR.

The input speed sensor  is located inside the transmission. To replace  INPUT SPEED SENSOR the transmission needs to be removed.

The output speed sensor  is located directly above the passenger side trans-axle shaft.
The input sensor  tells the transmission when to shift and the output speed sensor tells the speedometer what it should display and both the sensors are around 15-25 dollars each.
Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

SOURCE: removing the alternator from a 1995 oldsmobile aurora

i found it best to remove radiator first before trying to tackle the alternator... once that is removed then you can easily get to it to unloosen bolt and swap

SOURCE: replacing fuel pump on 1995 oldsmobile aurora

The GM 1995 Aurora repair manual, says to use the access hole under the carpet in the back right corner of the trunk. You are best to buy a new fuel sender locking nut or ring at the dealer for about $8.

Forgot to add this - to relieve the fuel pressure, just use the press the center of valve on the fuel rail (for pressure testing) and a rag to catch the dribble. Really no big deal.

Make sure disconnect the battery cables too

What is the problem? I have a code flashing PO717 from a diagnostic scan on my 1996 Olds Aurora.

The PO717 code is for the transmission input speed sensor, or the wires. The sensor is located inside the transmission.

My 1996 aurora's speedometer has stopped working what do I do?

Order a new speed sensor and make sure that you heed the recall notice for a fuel line defect that WILL start an engine fire eventually. Mine burned.

Outside temp sensor does not work on 1995 olds aurora

You can buy a replacement ambient air temp sensor at an auto parts store for about $10. Its as simple to change as a light bulb and can be found behind your front bumper at the base of the radiator.

Idleing speed on 1995 aurora

My car did that once as well i let it run for about 10 minutes and it stopped. Come to find out it did that because it was cold and needed to warm up. This will only happen if you press the gas in all the way. FYI: Be careful putting it in gear. I almost drove thre my garage!
