My car is having a lite oil leak and i want be able too get it the shop until Wednesday so what should i do?

Was the oil changed recently? the filter or drain plug may be loose. if it's a leak that has been there for a while and you haven't had a recent oil change, just keep your eye on the oil level and you'll be ok. if you've had an recent oil change, and the filter or plug is loose, they might loosen more due to vibration and cause major oil loss.

It seems we have an oil leak, we smelled burnt oil, added 1/2 quart on Tuesday, my son then added 1 qt Wednesday. Oil is pooling around the gasket thing...not sure of the terms...my nephew thinks it could...
put a cardboard uner the car to locate the leak then check it whit a light to see where it comes from. Mybe the oil pan gasket is bad. Good luck

How 2 turn off "oil change required" lite
Ford Explorer, Mercury Mountaineer, 2002-06

To reset CHANGE OIL SOON/OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message on the Message Center, press the SET UP control to access the System Check mode. Press and release the RESET button to display “OIL LIFE % HOLD RESET NEW” is displayed. Press and hold the RESET button for 2 seconds until “IF NEW OIL HOLD RESET” is displayed. Press and hold RESET button until “OIL LIFE SET TO 100%” is displayed.

Ford Five Hundred, Freestyle, Mercury Montego 2005-06 Tap the ODO/TRIP button to toggle the display between the odometer and trip odometer. Tap on the ODOiTRIP button again to toggle the display between the trip odometer and OIL LIFE % display. Press and hold the ODO/IRIP button for 2 seconds or more to display OIL LIFE 100%. Your oil life in now reset.

My 96 toyota camry smokes when i start it .
automotive shops sell this stuff called honey. Its super thick oil that might slow down the leak. If the leak is coming from your oil pan try tightening the 10 or twelve small bolts around the oil pan. only go a half a turn on each so you dont smash your gasket or seal.

sounds like a leaky oil presure switch. they will leak oil out of the wires comming out of them sometimes saturating the connector of the switch. If that isnt the problem then your oil pump is weak causing the lite to come on or your leak is so bad your oil level is so low the lite is coming on
