Did you check the fuse for the trailer tow adapter paring lamps ? This is a separate fuse powered by a relay, it is not the same circuit as the truck's parking lamps.
This is fuse # F10 & The half size ISO relay, R201 in the fuse panel in the passenger side kick panel.
This is based upon being a new body style 2004, not the 2004 Heritage or Lightning models, those are different fuse & relay locations.

Running lights on your trailer are on the same circuit as your vehicle running lights. In other words, your tow vehicle lights must be on to have the trailer running lights on.

Check your ground and check the pin on your plug ... do you have power on the towed vehicle plug with the lights on? If yes, when you plug in your trailer, you should be able to power the running lights as well.

Like I said, check grounds and if that doesn't work ... check the lamps in each fixture.

SOURCE: 2001 Dodge Ram 2500, no running lights on trailer

The truck is protecting itself from the load impose by the trailer.. Chk the plug on the truck for wire gauge size. Turn any electrical loads off on the trailer, any and all. If fuse still blows then the fuse is either underated or the trailer has a dead short. In fact turn trail main power panel of. All lights work you say. So ck the inverter for defect byturning off the inverter on one of the trailers.

How do I test the fuse for the trailer running lights on a 2005 Titan.

The trailer light are connected to you vehicles wiring. Turn brake running. If the tail light are on on your vehicle you start checking wiring. If the tail lamps do not work check fuses in vehicle. If the trailer is hooked up and the fuse blows again check trailer. If it blows agin without trailer check vehicle wiring.

suggest downloading the trailer pin standard for whatever number of pins your trailer plug has and tracing the wiring from the colors . The standard will tell you what color goes to what light and what pin number it should be on . Also 5 pin and 7 pin are different . You can plug a 5 pin into a 7 pin but the wiring is different .

Also check the trailer socket is grounded at the car body properly. As this can cause lots of weird symptoms.

Most likely the brown wire from the trailer connector is connected to a constant battery voltage source, and it should be connected to the vehicle running light circuit, however someone might have wired the trailer connector up that way on purpose so that the trailer does not draw power from the vehicle running lights and possibly damage the vehicle running light circuit. (Dodge/Chrysler vehicles do have delicate lighting systems) Here are some images to help assist you, and the 4 way connector is the same as the 5 way connector just without the blue wire for the trailer brakes.

You will need a turn and brake signal box IF, you have different bulbs for brake and turn lamps. If the brake and turn bulbs are one(red)lens than no box will be required. Thanks, Dana
