Hello, Im trying to rewiremy transmission on a 92 GMC 3500 vandura box van. My don chewed the wiring that plugs into the transmission The plug has 11 wires coming out of it but some of them that he didnt chew are different colors. I mean by that one color coming out of the plug and its connected to a different color in the wiring harness, so it has me confused.

Hello tnvolsfan32,

Use the FREE drawing available on the
BBB Industries site to trace out your wiring...
BBB Industries Premium Alternators Starters Power Steering Products

First put the wires together that
DO PERFECTLY MATCH... Then go
back to the drawing and find out what
DEVICE, CONNECTOR or PLUG got
disconnected or swallowed.

Generally wires DON'T CHANGE COLORS
in a wiring harness run... So you definitely
need to look for a LOGICAL EXPLANATION.

Registration is required... these are real
wiring documents...

Each time you return from a WIRING page
make sure you have not
defaulted back into TSBs...
(technical service bulletins)... While usually
quite useful... they don't begin to address any
WIRE-EATING-DOG problems...

If you get confused comment me back...
I can recommend some great tools to help
SPLICE everything back together

Tone Tracer being PRIMARY
Extech TG20 Wire Tracer and Tone Generator Amazon com

Helpful hint: wire must be ISOLATED to trace correctly
(pulled fuse or chewed through works).

Hope this helps

Your dip stick tube is your fill tube for your transmission . Make sure your transmission oil is at opperating temp before servicing some instructions are written on the dip stick , Use a small funnel , Add a little at a time (cup). Use the proper fluid , check regularly

SOURCE: gmc vandura 1996, 3500 running rich

There could be all kinds of reasons your vehicle runs rich. It should be fuel injected not carborated. It could have a bad injector, bad air filter, o2 sensors etc. Have it scaned for the reason.

It may be that the Vandura is the chassis it uses. Motorhomes go onto a stock chassis. You could try motorhome RV forums

Where is transmission fuse located on1995 GMC vandura 3500 1ton with 7.4 ltr engine

The information is in the owners manual. The fuse and relay box under the hood is where it will be if there is a dedicated tranny fuse, the fuse layout is on a label on the underside of the fuse box lid.

93 gmc vandura 3500 box van won't start. I have power, installed new starter and ignition switch, but the starter won't kick.

Some vehicles Red (hot lead) have an inline fuse. Also check for other fuses for the ignition. If you have an alarm system, make sure it is disarmed. That can be done by using the key to open the down some times.
