Air isn't blowing out of vents

Sounds like the internal air vent directional flaps aren't working some vehicles are vacuum operated some are electrical

The vents are not working properly. most run off of vaccum and that sounds like your problem. could also be the controls. suburbans are famous for this.

I think your problem is the head unit that selects where the air comes out ie. Face, floor, defrost, or hi-level face and floor. If that's not working then it will not let you switch location that you want the air to come out.

my issue at the moment is that the linkage (control arms) have come apart. it looks like there's a part missing from between the two control arms. there's a small electric motor with one arm and another arm that controls a flap somewhere that shifts the air flow between floor and up top. both of these control arms have a square hole in the ends and i don't see a way for them to be reconnected. so i'm assuming that there's a part missing.

It sounds like you have a vacuum leak. When there is no vacuum present to acutate the system, it will default to air only coming from the defrost vents. Is the blower motor operating or is the 'no air' you're talking about just no air blowing? If it's not blowing, check your fuse; if that's good, check for voltage at the blower connection. If you have voltage at the connection, remove the resistor to make sure it isn't bad befor condemning the blower motor.

Sounds like the radiator fan isn't coming on. You don't need the fan on when you're moving, cause air is blowing into the radiator, but sitting still you need the fan or it'll overheat. This makes me think the fan isn't coming on.

sounds like the mode actuator is not functioning correctly.

If the air isn't blowing at all, the the only component that could cause the problem is the blower motor. With the fan on - check to see if you have power getting to the motor. If you do have power at the motor, replace the assembly. If you don't have power, find the cause of your open circuit.

Hi! It may not be a vaccum problem. I think that the hoses that goes thru the main vent is the problem. They may have fall thats why theres no air coming out of the main vents only on the defrosters. Check the hoses and connect them to the main vents and it will resolve this. HOpe this helps and have a good one!
