New battery lights come on but wont even attempt to start

Might possibly be the antitheft system. Check out this link. Its common on GM vehicles to "not start" due to a communication failure in the system.

New starter 5months ago, now wont start...Getiing power to the radio and dash lights.. just makes a click noise. Try to bost it. It will jump start. could it be a Relay?

If you can jump start it from another vehicle , the starter is not the problem. Most likely a low battery , or dirty connections at the battery posts / cables.

2001 Pontiac sunfire, 4 cyl. standard.won't start

Yes, it could be the Neutral safety switch. Try popping the clutch a few times. Push it in and let it pop out and make sure you have it in Neutral. Also, try jumping the vehicle. It is possible to have all the volts in the world and everything looks good but not have enough amperage in the battery due to a dead cell to crank the motor over.

I would check the Maxi-Fuses, you may have blown the main fuse.

Won't start

I would try the battery, it sounds like it has enough juice to power the lights, but not everything else. You can take the battery to a local parts store and they can test it at no charge.

My car won't start and the battery is fine. i have a 98 pontiac sunfire 2.4L, please help

Not enough info to work with. Several problems can cause a vehicle not to start. If your battery is fine that is good, but does the car crank? (engine turning over attempting to start.) I will not speculate on what may be wrong without knowing more details...

1999 Pontiac Sunfire won't even turn over, but the

The radio will work even with a dying or discharged battery.

First, be sure to check all of your fuses in the engine compartment.

A full battery will keep the headlights bright with the engine off. With a dying or discharged battery, the headlights will be noticeably dim.

When you turn the key to crank the engine, does the starter try to turn or make a fast clicking? If so, the battery if low or dying. If it makes a slow click then stops, then it's REALLY dying.

If you don't have a battery charger, go to Walmart and get some jumper cables. Hook up a friend's car to yours. If it starts, then the battery was low, either from a bad battery or a bad alternator.

If it doesn't, you have electrical problems, possibly a bad starter or starter solenoid.
