check for a big fuse on the Red battery lead. It does have an Ignition fuse.

check the fuel pressure regulator, it sounds like it may bleeding down. It should hold a prime when key is off I think 30 psi min. if it is bleeding down it will cause an exteneded crank.
YOU COULD HAVE AIR IN THE FUEL LINES, I CHANGED MY FUEL PUMP AND FILTER ON MY 6.2 85 K 20 SURB. HAD PROBLEM STARTING IT. DO NOT USE STARTING FLUID. USE W-D 40 INSTEAD, IT WILL RUN ON IT AND PURG AIR OUT OF THE LINES. DO NOT CRANK TO LONG AT ONE TIME YOU CAN BURN UP YOUR STARTER. HOPE THIS HELPS?
