I would spray some WD-40 on the throttle cable, also, you may need to clean the throttle body and throttle plate, sometimes there will be some carbon build up that will make the throttle plate stick in the throttle body, Gumout and an old toothbrush works good.

How can i tell if i have a vaccum hose leak in my air in my 2001 dodge intrepid

You can take a can of carburator cleaner and begin spraying around all your vacuum lines, throttle body and intake manifold. When you hit an area that has a vacuum leak your idle will change. From that point you have a general are of the location of the leak and you can narrow it down from there. I hope this helps and good luck.

I have a 2001 dodge intrepid rt, it runs hot and will cut off. it doesnt leak any thing and just started runnng hot

The first thing to check when it gets too hot is to make sure the electric fan is working. If it's not, then that is the problem. If it's working, then check the following.
If the radiator and overflow tank are topped off and not low, then change the thermostat. It's most likely sticking. Very common problem and a cheap/easy repair.

Need to replace a fuel injector#6 on a dodge intrepid 3.2 engine the car is a 2001

You will have to remove the fuel rail and all the injectors as an assembly then once it's out you can remove the #6 injector from the rail. It doesn't hurt to spray a little wd40 around the injectors to ease removal sometimes they stick a little, then wiggle the whole rail gently as you lift up on it to remove it. Good luck.

We have a 2001 Intrepid R/T (3.5L) that stalls under heavy breaking. It has just started happening in the last month and has occurred three times. I have plugged it in and have found no codes. Any...

Your IAC,(idle air control) motor may be the culprit. I'd remove it, clean Pintle (pointed end) with throttle body cleaner good & spray well inside port it comes out of. I believe on that engine, it's at front of throttle body, under TP sensor. If it cures the problem, then starts doing it again before too long, replace it.
