Valve cover gasket

Bad head gasket, burnt/stuck valve, or bad piston rings. Do a compression test. None are worth fixing in a high mileage car. It only creates other problem.

Intake manifold leak , vacuum . Valve seating problem . check compression . Check for vacuum leak . Videos on youtube on these thing's .

Now you do a Cylinder Leak Down Test, to see if you
have a valve problem & they actually seal

Then you check the timing belt

I just had that problem and it turned out that I needed to replace my valve cover gasket

This is caused by the spark plug well seals, they are part of the valve cover gasket, replace the valve cover gasket to correct the problem.

EGR system failure. The negative battery cable must be removed first. The EGR is the system under the hood, between the fuse box and the block. The TCM Looks kind of like a radiator, and needs to be removed to access the EGR valve. It has two vaccumn hoses connecting it to the vaccuum system, make sure you keep track of where they connect to. Loosena nd removed the bolts holding the EGR, and gently remove the EGR valve.
Remove the old gasket and replace with a new one, install the new EGR and finger tighten the bolts. Make sure the vaccuum hoses are placed back on (label them if needed), once you have ensure that you have everything installed properly, then tighten the bolts on the EGR to 200 ft. lbs. Re-install the TCM and connectors, reconnect teh battery and you should be good to go.

fairly simply. take any plastic pieces covering valve cover off... then unbolt around the edges of the valve cover. take off the oil filler cap, may be some breather fittings like pipes coming from the valve cover you will have to undo. valve cover should come off. replace new gaskets, and reseat and re install:) good luck

egr valves are typically mounted on a grommet on the valve cover

Replace the valve cover set.
