1998 Jeep Cherokee -- car won't start. Turns over -- cleaned battery terminals but still won't start
I have a 1996 Cherokee 4.0. It did the same thing. It would turn over but not crank. I changed out the Crank Shaft position sensor It start up on the 1st turn of the key.
Have scanned to find problem code to get an idea of what it is. .it may either be the crank or cam sensor, check the crank sensor first. if it is bad it sends wrong timing info to pcm. therefore jeep will not start!!
It is either the camshaft or crankshaft positioner. I would check the crank pos. first.
