You have the condition diagnosed to find out what part is malfunctioning. It could be a simple sensor unplugged or failed. This is going to be one of your abs sensors at one of your four wheels (if equipped with all four). On the ford I believe you have to replace the hub and with that comes a new pigtail to connect to your abs. Not a mentally hard fix but you will learn some new words getting the parts off to replace it.

if you have a broken thrust washer for sure ,you must have the gearbox out,,,,if you have it out then you would need to spend some time in a mental institution if you didnt do the whole job ,rerace it and do the job properly ,there is no cheapway to fix things it allways comes back and bites youfair square on the arse "youdoit"

Start with the “easy to check” items first...Some of these checks/repairs require specialized tools or equipment. A trusted repair shop or dealer would be would be advised to correct this problem.
Try changing the spark plugs, Check the coil, TPS sensor & MAP sensor voltage. Check the fuel pressure, check for vacuum leaks including intake manifold. Dirty or plugged injector, timing, compression test-including leak test--meaning, put #1 on TDC then charge the cylinder with air (~30lbs), and check for leak via exhaust/intake. Update PCM to the latest software, Worn camshaft.
