A high rev problem is due to either carbon build up in the iac passage's not letting the iac close to normal idle or the iac is just bad and stuck in that position.

iac= idle air control solenoid

Inside the throttle body intake is a butterfly and just above that is a small opening that the iac uses to move air past the butterfly and this sometimes gets plugged with carbon build up so spray some carb cleaner down through the passage,and sometimes you have to remove the 4 bolts and take the throttle body off to clean them out.

Saturns are known for carbon problems,and they are hard on egr systems,I recommend using sea foam a couple times a year to help fight the carbon build up,just follow the direction and use it in the fuel and vaccum lines as directed but do it on a warm engine and let sit for a couple hours so the sea foam has time to loosen the carbon

As soon as I start my 94 honda accord lx it's always revved up like I'm holding the gas pedal down a little what can this be

Its your choke revving up the engine untal it warms up. Once its warmed up it should not do it. If it does then the choke is stuck. Spray with some WD40.
It maybe more but simple stuff 1st. Mike

Heating up your car

It seems simple, but you can make a big difference by turning off your radio, wipers, climate control, all of those accessories, when you start the car. Most of the wear on the engine happens when you start the car, and by turning off those accessories, your engine doesn’t have to work as hard when starting.
Another thing people do is revving the engine in the winter. This actually doesn’t help “warm up” the car. Although it does technically make the engine hotter, it’s not the kind of “warming up” that you want. Revving your engine in the winter causes extreme temperature changes right away, which is actually the opposite of what you want. When you start the car, the oil hasn’t yet worked its way through the system, so the engine is working without lubricant. The right way to do it is just let the car sit and idle for about 30 seconds to a minute at the least.

My '04 blazer has been revving erratically when I start it. Goes back to normal after a couple minutes of warming up, but when I drove without the warmup it was revving up on its own even when I h

I had an 04 blazer. There is an undocumented problem with leaks in the intake manifold. The original gasked was low quality. I would expect that you have a vacuum leak in the intake manafold. My problem was a coolant leak. Replacing the manifold gasked fixed it.
If not this, make sure you do not have any creaks or opening in the air hoses that fed the throttle body.

Car wont move after warmed up

Stuck in snow, if you spin the tires for a prolonged amount of time you can overheat the transmission and damage it internally. Without seeing it, my best guess is that's what happened!

My 1992 Chevy Blazer S 10 is revving really high when it starts

i have an s10 that would rev up high. i hooked up my scanner and it didn't give me much information, so i started researching. it took a while. i got my manual out and looked up all of the sensors in the fuel system. i even paid some web site $10 for help {wasred my $10} and they were no help. so i researched all of the sensors and found out their symptoms when they malfunctioned. the culprit turned out to be my water temp sensor. here is how it works, when you first start your engine the water is cold, the sensor sends out the information to the brain [warm me up] so your engine idles high to help reach operating temp quicker. when the sensor malfunctions it will send the wrong info to the brain [i'm cold] so the brain revs up the engine in an effort to get warm .i replaced the water temp sensor and the engine is back to normal.
