2003 saturn has engine light it starts fine drove to store wont restart shows a lock in the dash board after about 15 minutes it started and was able to get home any idea what is wrong and will this happen again

The dash light are referred to as idiot lights. I\'d check your battery and charging system.

U have to get the engine light check . I mean read the code , any auto zone will do it for free

you need obd2 scanner to do this or obd interface for PC. on some cars you can try to remove negative battery cable for 15 minutes. if you have radio code you need to save it before removing cable.

That thing about the lights flashing, think about it. that happens only when you lock or unlock the car with remote to set and off-set the security system. Makes sense that your security system is in lock-out mode so nothing works, right?. Disable or reset your security system and you'll be fine.

It is your engine coolant temp sensor (ECTS). 99.9%. the saturn made them with a plastic tip, so they crack over time. A replacement should be about 15 bucks and not too hard to replace. You'll notice your engine temp gauge not working (always cold).

I don't know much about cars, but here's what happens. When your car is cold, the fuel runs rich. Your broken sensor is always reading that the engine is cold, but when it is warm, it runs too rich and floods your engine, not allowing it to start. When your engine is actually cold, everything is fine.

check the positive battery cable for corrosion. also make sure the cables are tight

two things it might be 1? crank shaft sensor or 2? camshaft sensor
