The P0700 is not a true fault code, it just means that the powertrain control module has requested the Transmission control module to turn on the check engine light to alert you of a fault. The P0717 is the one you need diagnosed, it is the real problem,.
We need to know the model, year, engine size, and the actual trouble code to really help you; but I provide some generic tips at the link below. Do not replace the sensor until the problem is properly diagnosed. O2 sensors rarely cause stalling. Get the computer scanned and ask them to find any historical or pending trouble codes. Engine light flashing along with the drop on RPMs is indicative of misfires. Connect a scan tool and see if any codes are stored this may give you a starting point. As for the clicking I'm not sure that it is related to the engine light but clicking when braking may be due to worn suspension/steering parts such as control arm bushings
Don't reset the lights without getting the DTC's or diagnostic trouble codes from the car's computer. An autoparts store can hook up a diagnostic code reader for free. With the codes in hand, you can start to diagnose your issue. You can then reset the lights to see if the codes return.
