4.0 L engine is likely the last easy engine to work on. Get a haynes or chilton manual and follow the directions. In order not to destroy anything, that lies with you. Use care, don't force anything and use the proper tools.
As far as "taking apart" , some items such as the crankshaft are not removable without taking the engine out. A carefully torn down engine should need no more than replacement of worn or damaged parts and a gasket set (plus machine work where necessary)

Remove rear seat from Honda Ridgeline 2006 ?

1. Pull the plastic panels off under the seat. pull them straight forward to remove them.
2. Remove the six bolts (14mm) holding the seat and center seatbelt in place.
3. Pop the two small plastic covers at the top and behind the seat using a trim removal tool or screwdriver. Cover the screwdriver with something so you don't damage anything.
4. Lift the seat straight upward and take it out

CD and cassette stuck with no power

Unfortunately, no. There's no good way to get cd's or tapes out of a non-working radio without breaking something. Depending on what is in the player, it may be easier to replace it.
You may be able to attach a battery pack or booster to the battery cables (after disconnecting the current battery) and see if the radio comes alive. If the damage is not too severe, you may still have a chance at recovering your stuff.

How long does it take for the motor to run after it overheats?

  1. Depends on if the motor seized after it over heated, in that case it will never start.
  2. If it still cranks and nothing internally came apart it should crank after it cools several hours.

I want to upgrade my stereo in my truck. Where can I get instructions on how to take my dash apart without destroying anything?

First you need to remove the dash bezel. To do so you need to put the truck in low gear and tilt the column all the way down then grab a side or the top and pull on the bezel with moderate pressure. now that your down to the radio there are tabs on either side of the radio, push them down and pull the radio out. unplug the wiring harness and antenna from the back of the radio and your done.
