What weight oil do I put into my 1993 Lumina?

75/90 weight gear oil.

Use straight 30 weight or sae 30 10 30 is ok but thicker oil for older cars

3.1 vin T
3x sensor firewall side of engine above oil pan between transmission
24x sensor behind crank pulley/ balancer

The best way to get oil weight is look under the hood for a white sticker...it will have the recommended weight ....good luck

20 w - 50 motor oil is a pretty heavy weight of a motor oil, normally engines either perform better on 5 w- 30, or 10 w - 30, if you have a owners manual , you can check in it to see what the manufacturer calls for , if you don't have a manual, then look on the oil cap, where you pour the oil into, it should have the information on the cap. there is even motor oils on the market specifically recommended for engines that have over 75,000 miles on them, one of them is valvoline max life. you will have to decide what kind that you want, thank you , and hope that this information has helped you.

trying to find the oil sending unit is locted.

check the oil pan,or check the front and rear seal.

Not that bad, jack up front of car used jack stands, starter sit between radiator and engine, on engine block above oil pan, disconnect battery 1st.

the problem may have been as simple as a locked up alternator. Did you check too see if it was changed? The alternator will simulate a locked up engine. If an engine locks up you wont be able to get it running. The crank welds itself to the bearings or the rod locks up tigh. I suspect your engine was fine from the start.
