The procedure is in the owners manual, but it is not easy. You need to turn the wheels in (to right for drivers side) and then shut car off. Then you will need to loosen the inside front wheel well, which is plastic, until you can bend it out of the way enough to reach inside to the bulb. The bulb twists out with a 1/4 turn to the left and then unplugs. Just a hint, make sure that the gasket comes out with the bulb and that you only use one when you reinstall the new bulb. Since you have an LS you don't have fog lights, but that bulb is replaced the same way.

How do you access the headlights on a 2008 chevy hhr I need to change them.

Most Chevy headlights are held in place by three 10 mm bolts...as you remove all 3, you can lift the headlight assembly forward and expose the headlight bulbs...be sure to use bulb lubricant when installing the new bulbs, also wear gloves so you do not touch (harmful hand grease) the new bulb filaments...our normal hand grease can cause shorter bulb life. Hope this helps.

CAN'T GET TO HHR HEADLIGHTS FROM UNDER THE HOOD

That is correct. You need to steer the front wheels all the way in one direction so you can remove the wheelwell fasteners. There are push fasteners and screws with a 7mm head on the front edge. Remove enough of then that you can pull the fender liner back enough to reach your hand in to where the headlight sockets are. Twist and remove them and you can replace the bulbs.

Replacing headlight bulb on my HHR 2008

The procedure for changing the front bulbs is described in the owners manual but it is not easy. It is the same for the headlights, turn signals, and fog lights. First, turn the wheels in (to the left for the right side) and then turn off the vehicle. You will then loosen the screws on the inside plastic wheel well until you can bend it out of the way. You can then reach inside, and the bulbs all come out with a 1/4 twist to the left. Make sure you remove the old gasket ring, and install the new bulb with only one gasket. Screw the wheel well back into position and you are done.

How do I change the headlight bulb in a 2008 Chevrolet HHR?

Access to change the headlamp bulbs is through the wheel well. The recommended method is to remove the front tire and then the plastic inner fender liner. Once removed, you'll have easy (more or less) access to the rear of the headlamp housing.

Headlight bulb on my 2006 HHR

Turn your wheels in on the side that you are replacing, remove the two locking pins at the bottom side of the wheel well liner, pull the liner back and reach in to turn the bulb socket.
