SOURCE: My drivers side electric window won't work
Hi Hawkeye1973
The first thing you should do is swap the passenger switch in place of the drivers switch and then see if the window now works. If so then you need a new drivers side switch. It may be clicking but it may not be working.
If it still doesn't work then you need to get your hands on a volt meter and get back to me.
TULL FAMILY
You need to remove the drivers door panel and investigate the window mechanism, it sounds asthough its sticking.
Very best regards
Geordie

Their wiring can be something .The circuit boards short out and the lights on the right front where on with the left rear lights.

the socket is located under the centre console. slde the console back. there is a plastic panel there. pull it towards the windscreen to remove it. if the car is petrol it sonds like an ignition coil. if its a diesel it could be an injector. both easily fixed

MY SCENIC WAS LEAKING THROUGH THE BUTTONS THAT control the SUNROOF. after many months of hair tearing i found the solution. The black sealant used to seal the windscreen on the inside was hard and dried out with age. I bought some new sealant - re sealed the windscreen on the inside top part. Hey presto. no more wet seats and footwells

the vehicle is old enough that the fan blower motor sounds like it is in need of replacing. when you hit the dash it causes the brushes in the motor to contact enough to start the electrical connection, it may stop when it gets hot, or is turned off. the ticking sound is more than likely the bearings wore in the motor enough to cause the cage fan to touch the housing enough to cause the sound.
