2005 chrysler 300 limited; driver side front window switches and door lock switch don't work. Driver side rear window switches work. Passenger switch operates passenger window. Replaced driver side switch module and door module and did not solve the problem.

SOURCE: Passenger power window will not open.

We have had this happen in every town and country and caravan that we have owned. They will tell you that the window motor needs replaced. It will work for a while and then break again. Did I mention that the price tag to fix it is pretty hefty? A friend of mine told me that he fixed his with a salvaged window motor for a fraction of the price. The motor is obviously defective though if it breaks so easily.

hi this works on most voyagers disconect the possative terminal on the battery for ten minites excactly then reconnect and happy days your voyager centrol locking should work ok good luck

If your alarm went off, it could be that someone had tried to break into your car. They most likely may have cut some of the wires inside your door with what ever device they may have been using. Look for evidence between the bottom of the windows and doors where the problem is. If not, then it is possible that your automatic window assemblies are malfunctioning. Do you hear the motors run on the windows when you go up or down with the switch? I also have a Pacifica, 2005, however no window problems yet.

In your Model :-

The automotive thermostat is a temperature controlled on and off valve. When the temperature rises to a predetermined temperature, the thermostat opens up to allow the engine coolant to flow through the cylinder block and the radiator. This flow is crucial to maintain optimum operating temperature for fuel efficiency, enhanced driveability, and engine protection. The coolant flow is reduced when the engine is cold, and the flow is increased when the engine is hot. Contrary to popular opinion, operating the vehicle without the thermostat doesn't make the engine run cooler. It will actually run hotter because there isn't a thermostat to slow the coolant flow. This means the coolant doesn't stay in the radiator long enough to dissipate its heat.

TO TEST THERMOSTAT

There are several ways to test the opening temperature of a thermostat.
One method does not require that the thermostat be removed from the engine.

  • Remove the radiator pressure cap from a cool radiator and insert a thermometer into the coolant.
  • Start the engine and let it warm up. Watch the thermometer and the surface of the coolant.
  • When the coolant begins to flow, this indicates the thermostat has started to open.
  • The reading on the thermometer indicates the opening temperature of the thermostat.
  • If the engine is cold and coolant circulates, this indicates the thermostat is stuck open and must be replaced.
The other way to test a thermostat is to remove it.
  • Suspend the thermostat completely submerged in a small container of water so it does not touch the bottom.
  • Place a thermometer in the water so it does not touch the container and only measures water temperature.
  • Heat the water.
  • When the thermostat valve barely begins to open, read the thermometer. This is the opening temperature of this particular thermostat.
  • If the valve stays open after the thermostat is removed from the water, the thermostat is defective and must be replaced.
  • Several types of commercial testers are available. When using such a tester, be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Markings on the thermostat normally indicate which end should face toward the radiator. Regardless of the markings, the sensored end must always be installed toward the engine.
  • When replacing the thermostat, also replace the gasket that seals the thermostat in place and is positioned between the water outlet casting and the engine block.

  • Generally, these gaskets are made of a composition fiber material and are die-cut to match the thermostat opening and mounting bolt configuration of the water outlet.
  • Thermostat gaskets generally come with or without an adhesive backing. The adhesive backing of gaskets holds the thermostat securely centered in the mounting flange, leaving both hands of the technician free to align and bolt the thermostat securely in place.

TO REPLACE THERMOSTAT

CAUTION
If the radiator is filled to the top with coolant and the engine is run without the radiator cap in place, the coolant will expand and spill over as the engine warms up.
  • Drain some coolant into a clean container until the coolant level is below the thermostat housing.
  • Remove the upper radiator hose connection from the thermostat housing.
  • Loosen the housing bolts and remove the housing.
  • Remove the gasket and scrape it carefully from the surface of the housing and the mounting surface on the engine. If the gasket remains on either of the surfaces, there will probably bea coolant leak after reassembly. Some engines use a rubber O-ring to seal a thermostat housing.
  • Compare the size of the thermostat to the old one. They are of different sizes, types, and temperature ratings.
  • The temperature rating is stamped on the sensing bulb on the bottom of the thermostat. The temperature bulb faces the block.
  • When replacing a thermostat, be sure that the thermostat fits into the groove in the block or outlet housing. If the thermostat is installed upside down, the engine will overheat.
  • Install the gasket.
  • Reinstall the thermostat housing. Refill the system and run the engine or pressure test to check for leaks.
  • When the engine has reached operating temperature make sure the thermostat opens.
  • You should be able to see coolant circulating within the radiator.
  • Another way of checking thermostat operation is to feel the top of the radiator hose or use a thermometer or multimeter with a temperature probe to confirm that the coolant is warming up.
  • If the engine is overheating, but the top hose is still cool to the touch, the thermostat is stuck closed and must be replaced.
NOTE When a paper gasket is used and the recess is in the thermostat housing, it is a good practice to position the thermostat into the recess and glue the gasket to hold it in place. If it falls out of its groove during installation, the outlet housing can be cracked or a coolant leak will result. Before tightening the water outlet housing, try to rock it back and forth to be sure it is flush. Housings are often cracked during this step.

The fact that the service engine light came on indicates a fault has been recorded. Most chain auto parts stores have complimentary diagnostic tests that will determine the fault code. Depending on what the code(s) is will determine the course of action. Considering a diagnostic test at a dealer runs $75 and up, I'd get the free test to get the codes. From there it may be a simple fix (i.e. tightening gas cap if u just got gas etc)

Power Windows Operation
The vehicle is equipped with power windows controlled by the door modules. Each passenger door window can be operated, either from a switch built into the driver door switch assembly (DDSA), or from a switch mounted locally to its associated door. The driver door window can be operated only from the driver door window switch built into the DDSA.
When a window is operated from the DDSA, the DDSA interprets the window switch signal as a specific window switch request and sends the information to the driver door module (DDM) via the power door serial data circuit. The DDM examines the request and checks to see if it has received any class 2 serial data messages from any of the other vehicle modules (i.e. ignition switch position) prohibiting the movement of the window. If the window being operated is the driver door window, and if no prohibitive class 2 messages have been received, the DDM then applies voltage and ground to the driver door window motor to move the window glass as requested. If the window being operated is a passenger door window, and no prohibitive class 2 messages have been received, the DDM sends the request, via the power door serial data circuit, to the appropriate passenger door module. The passenger door module then applies voltage and ground to the passenger door window motor to move the window glass as requested.
When a passenger door window is operated from the power window switch mounted locally to its associated door, the passenger door module first checks to see if the DDM has received any prohibitive class 2 serial data messages. If there are no prohibitive messages, the passenger door module powers the associated passenger door window motor.
Both front door windows have the express down feature. This allows the front door windows to be fully opened by momentarily pulling the appropriate window switch lever to the second detente and then releasing.

Did you hook up a scan tool an check for DTC'S in the driver door module ?

DTC B3142, B3147, B3152, or B3157

The switch that failed and generated this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is wired to either the driver door switch assembly (DDSA) or the passenger door module (PDM). The DDSA or the PDM includes the switch state in the message it sends to the driver door module (DDM) via the power door serial data circuit. The DDM sends the switch message to the rear integration module (RIM), which is the master of all lock operations, as a class 2 message. The RIM checks all conditions and if all conditions are correct, sends its OK to the DDM. When the OK message is received, the DDM sends the required signal to all other door modules via the power door serial data message system.

Where is the body control module located in 2005 Lincoln las.

There is no BODY CONTROL module,but there is a Front Electronic module FEM, and a rear electronic module,REM (not the rock group,LOL!).
The FEM is located behind the driver's kick panel and the FEM is located on the right side down in the trunk.
The REM controls: Rear windows, , all rear lights, trunk opening, fuel door release, rear window defrost grid, trunk ajar switch, front passenger door lock, , front passenger door lock switch,rear door locks, trunk light, fuel pump, fuel level senders, antenna booster.

Have you checked each individual door switch
for voltage? If there is voltage and a good ground try jumping the switch with a bypass wire to see if the window responds. It could be a bad master control switch which you can bypass to check to see if its working properly. Drivers door switch module. They are known to be a problem. Hope this helps.

Before you replace anything, inspect the connector pins in both the driver's door switch and the passenger door switch. If you don't find any problem with these connector pins, replace the driver's door control switch.

It has to be the switch or the wiring, right? So pull out the switch and probe the back with a volt meter to see if power is coming out of the switch. If yes, trace the wires to the doors.

2005 Chrysler T&C passenger side window went down and won't come up. All other automatic windows and door locks work fine - don't hear any motor sound / buzz / etc. when either driver side or passenger...

If the window had not been slow in it's action before it stopped working I'm guessing you only have a connection problem. I would remove the door panel and using a multimeter check the hot wire to see if power is reaching the switch. If it is check the connection on the motor. If power is reaching the motor through the switch you have a faulty motor. If at any point of testing there is no power backtrack the power wire to find where the break is. (it's usually in the door jam)

Rear side windows

This may be just a case of inadvertently hitting the window lock out n th driver door window switch by mistake. Check that first. Here's some background on window operation

Principles of Operation
The driver power window regulator motor is controlled directly by the master window/door lock/unlock switch (and its integrated "auto down" module). Power is supplied to the power window relay and the master window/door lock/unlock switch, and the passenger power window switch when the SEC/timer module grounds the coil side of the power window relay. The SEC/timer module will ground this relay when the ignition is in the ON position and will remain energized for approximately 15 minutes or until the driver or passenger door is opened.
The driver power window regulator motor is a reversible motor that is operated by applying power and ground to the motor leads to lower the window, and then reversing polarity on those leads to raise the window.
The passenger power window regulator motor is controlled directly by the passenger power window switch and can also be controlled by the master window/door lock/unlock switch. Power is supplied to the power window relay and the master window/door lock/unlock switch, and the passenger power window switch when the SEC/timer module grounds the coil side of the power window relay. The SEC/timer module will ground this relay when the ignition is in the ON position and will remain energized for approximately 15 minutes or until the driver or passenger door is opened.

The power rear quarter glass is also directly controlled by the master window/door lock/unlock switch. The power rear quarter glass power latches also utilize reversible motors. The power rear quarter glass power latches are operated by applying power and ground to the motor leads to open the window, and then reversing polarity on those same leads to close the window.

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee driver side power windows do not work

I had the same problem with now power to windows, mirrors and seat. The common soulution is the orange and or black wire in the boot have broken between the door and post.
