Car started beeping when driving down road

I was driving down the road and the beeping noise that comes on when you leave your lights on w/ keys still in car came on... both doors were shut, my emergency brake is off.. i even buckled both seat belts to be sure that wasn't the issue. It's not a constant beep... more like a beep, beep, beep. The brake light came on, it's red (had an excamation mark next to it and a P in a circle on the other side) but I'm not really sure if that is related to the beeping. The anti-lock brake light has been on since I got the car also. Just not really sure where the beeping is coming from... kind of annoying too :) Please help..!!

The beep beep is telling you that your parking brake is still on.
if the abs red light is on get it fixed, like, yesterday.

Its time for another car Jerry.
The oil pressure light was telling you the engine was running on less than 10 psi of oil pressure, and the knock was a rod or main bearing.
Now that the engine has been run low on oil pressure for some time, one of the rod or main bearings is junk, and so is the engine.
By the time you replace the engine, even with a used one, you could take the same money and buy another car. Even if you took the engine apart and fixed the bad bearings, the rest of the engine parts are very weak from running without oil.

Driving down the road the car will shut off 1998 Olds Intrigue. Sometimes it will start right back up. Other times it has to set for awhile like to cool down or something. Other times it will not start...
Next time this happens, check to see if the SECURITY light shows up on the dash. The security that comes on that vehicle can actually kill the motor if its not comminicating properly.

I just got the same problem on a 97 ford expedition, I have to start working on it, more likely would be a malconection issue or the swich unit check for any burned wires. and also check both the positive and the negative conection at the batrery. that all I'll keep you posted.

if you leave a turn indicator on or the lights on or leave the key in the ignition and open the drivers door it will beep.if none of the above then the door sensor could be faulty.does it beep when you are driving??? then you have a fault if not no fault to worry about...

sounds like an earth connection ,but where ,,,,back of dash,,,battery earth,,,ECU earth point ,,try putting a drop of oil on the earth points with a conventional oil can no sprays of crappy fish oil other than that you would have to wait for it to happen again in front of a mechinic to find it,.or trade it in for a nice europeon size car with a an engine under 1600cc .5litres is a bit obscene in this day and age and price of petrol

Loud Beeping noise when the car is started
If you are using the smart key and you do not have it in the ignition, it will send a signal thru the car speakers to let you know that the keys are not in the ignition(beep,beep,beep,beep), and that they are to far from the sensor. Next time you are driving and the keys are in your pocket, pull them out and wave them around the speedometer. It will notice keys in car and the beeping will go away.

Beeping noise - 2005 Mustang
You know, I have a 2005 Mustang GT that honks randomly. MAKE SURE you troubleshoot it now. I waited and now my alternator is fried. About 95% of voltage disturbances can be contributed to the alternator, and from what I understand the alternators on our cars are notorious for crapping out. -Amanda
