If on the passenger side when the air conditioning has been running, most likely a clogged air conditioning drain hose. You can located it by reaching under the dash in the passenger foot well. I have cleaned mine by removing the end of the hose from the firewall grommet and inserting a wire in the hose to clear the clog, then used a shop vac to **** out the debris through the hose. I did this several times. Take a container to catch the water as once you clear the clog the water will come running out all over your head.

Why is there water leaking under the dash

If it's leaking near the glove box, it's probably the heater.
If it leaks at the foot of the driver it may be a clogged drain near the windshield wipers under the hood. Also could be a clogged drain around the sun roof.
First you can test the drains with a cup of water poured in the drain holes. You should see the water draining out under the car, usually near the tires.
They can be cleaned out with a little bit of air from a compressor.
Hope this helps.

Much water under front carpet of 2002 Toyota Sienna. seems to coming from up under dash on firewall I think, what say you.

If the Water smells like Antifreeeze then it is your HEATER CORE

If the water smells like Water or Dirty Water, then you have a LEAK.

Here is a TRICK..

Get an Aresol Can of WINDOW CLEANER.... Spray completely around your Windshield on OUTSIDE EDGES... YOU WANT IT FOAMY.

Get an AIR HOSE and BLOW the Windshield from the INSIDE and see where the leak is coming from.....

It has ALWAYS worked for me

Leak under dashboard

The only fluids under the dash are coolant that circulates through the heater core, or if you have a manual transmission a failed clutch master cylinder can leak brake fluid under the dash right where clutch pedal is located. If the heater core is leaking, it usually shows up on the passenger side. If it is just plain water, you need to check how rain water could be getting in past the firewall and under the dash.

Rain water under dash

Hello, You may have a potential claim under your Car Insurance for Comprehensive which may have no deductible.

There is every potential for water damage to the components under the dash besides the rust of the metal dash framework.

Your windshield seal may be leaking and a simple removal and replacement of the seal by a Glass shop may fix your car. But there may be other wiring "boots" going through the firewall and those chassis seals may also leak.

You have a problem which does not necessarily have a bolt-on solution except possibly a worn door hinge pin allowing for a leak to run along the top of your door weatherstripping and into the dash on the drivers door jam.

There are a number of paste or tube type gasket sealants. But you would want something like the glass shops use. The fumes from some of the products are meant to be used under the hood and not inside the cabin where the people are.

Check with your insurance company, often Comprehensive does not raise your rates if you need to use it. Otherwise if you want to fix it yourself, look for water tracking. You could also position yourself under the dash and have a helper spray a garden hose on the car while you look for the water to enter.

Water leaks from under dash on the passenger and driver side and water leaks from the visors on both sides 1997 saturn s series

If you have a sunroof then the problem is most likely a drainage problem with the sun roof. The drains are blocked and the water is running down into the car.

The under the dash thing is the only thing that worries me. That is usually the location where the heater core will leak to. Are you sure it is water and not coolant? Coolant gives off a sweet smell and when it's hot you know cause it stinks.

But my money is on a sunroof leak and drainage problem if you indeed have a sunroof.

Leaks water under the dash or antifreeze. Sounds like it needs a heater core. If you replaced the thermostat it might still have air trapped in it.
