You could just be low on freon. Add 1 can & see what happens.
Usually the rear works but not the front. I'm assuming the blower works back there.

It could also be the rear control for hot/cold. You can get an assembly at slavage yard for $10.

i have an extra if you find that is the failure.

Without knowing the car or the ac layout my first instinct is an air lock. Be careful when trying to bleed air from the system as there is a danger of being scalded

1999 mercury villager put in new heater blower motor and motor blows but nothing out the vents and which way is motor supposed to turn

If it is factory Ford/Motocraft motor, it has an arrow on it for direction of rotation. Pull the hose off the motor and see if air blows out of it. It cools the bearing on the motor. If air comes out, dircetion is ok. Report back

My 1999 mercury villager heater is not blowing hot air

you have air trapped in the heater cores, front and back. You need to burp system or take to a shop and have them flush cooling system and use their vacuum system to purge the air. Should cost $60. Make sure they have vacuum system.

Or go to our site and read file on how to burp air from cooling system.

Greetings. i have a 96 mercury villager that neither the front or rear ac is getting cold. fan blows hot air... was told that it did not need freon and that the compressor checked good... any other ideas

yes it sounds to me like the thermostat control on the dash is malfuctioning. either that or heater control valve under the dash that converts the flow of air around or through the heater core could be stuck in heater mode. hope this helps. i dont know your financial situation but if it was me i would aquire one from a salvage yard in order to test because that part is quiet expensive from the dealer

A/c not working

sounds like you a have a problem with the blend door. could be a bad blend door motor or something is stuck keeping it from moving.
