Speedo bounces after 110 km and when bouncing will not let my cruise control work properly . Problem is on a '91 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. It is a 350 with automatic and four wheel drive. Only has 107000 original kms. Wondering if there is a way to tell if it is the speedometer sending unit or the gauge cluster. Local chev "techs" have not been too helpful.

Speedo cable is probably shot. They just get old and stop working right.

There is a Service Bullitem out for that year (2wd) because the front frame cross member needs shims. I had it done to my crew cab 1500 a couple years ago, but the noise is back now :/
I'll look for the SB# a bit later. Good luck.... should still be covered, I think.

SOURCE: 99 Malibu all of a sudden my speedometer started bouncing wildly

I'm not 100% sure but your problem may be a speed sensor.  This is just a sensor that monitors how fast the tires are moving.  These are usually easy to change.  They require usually one or two bolts to be removed and an electrical plug.  But as to the location of yours, I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it mounts somewhere on the transmission (transaxle.)
Any questions, just ask!!! Please rate!!!  Thanks

Cruise control not working in my 2009 Silverado. It went out gradually over the past several months, pretty much worked intermittantly.

cruise control module has failed. or if your brake lights are staying on, then brake light switch has failed and not allowing cruise to engage. Have someone stand behind truck and see if brakes are working properly, if not- replace brake light switch. if fine, then swap out cruise control module under hood.... prob find one at a junk yard.

In neutral, speedometer gauge is bouncing, same as when driving on cruise. It is cutting off and coming back, and looks like trans. Is heating.

run the fault codes but it may be a VSS sensor failing
the speedo reading and cruise control all rely on a VSS signal.

98 chevy silverado bounces at 45 mph and when you brake at 45

You can assess this by carefully applying the parking brake part way while holding the release and coasting down hill on an open, unoccupied bit of roadway (conditions permitting). The parking brake applies only the drums on this truck.
A shudder under these conditions would point to drums being out-of-round.
