Remove the mounting screw on the lens, then remove the top 2 bolts holding the headlamp, pull headlamp out to gain access to the mounting nut on the turn signal. Remove the nut and the turn signal light will pull straight out allowing you to replace the bulb.

My 99 cavalier keeps blowing turn signal fuse

Check all turn signal bulbs, front and back, you probably have a blown bulb that is shorting the circuit. If all lights are ok, try removing them and installing one by one while circuit is energized, tif the fuse is blown on the first bulb try another location, his way you double check that the bulbs are not at fault. if it blows the fuse again, check your turn signal switch, it may be defective.

1998 Chevy Cavalier Z24 left rear brake/turn lamps will not work

Sometimes even a new bulb will not work. If you have a Digital Multi Meter you can check that you have power going to the rear. I know that sometimes when a vehicle loses a bulb in one end that it can make the other end stop working. With that said, I suggest that you double check to see that the front works. I used to own a 98 Cavalier RS with the 2.2 liter motor and I know that there are fuses under the hood and behind a little door on the drivers side in the car. Might check fuses under the hood also.

Chevrolet Cavilier turn signal bulb

I know what you mean, it is really tough to get to.  I just had the guy from autozone put it in for me when I bought it.  It got to it quick.
