Have a look at the power steering fluid cooler it is just in front of the radiator behind the front bumper. The coolers corrode and leak. Also the seals can go, check for fluid leaking out of the boots at the track rods. Try this procedure :--- 1)Trace the source of the leak. Use a mirror on an extended handle to follow the puddle of fluid on your garage floor to the power steering system. Look on the hoses and gaskets to find from where the fluid could be leaking. 2) Add power steering stop leak additive to your power steering fluid. Lucas Power Steering Stop Additive is 100 percent guaranteed to stop seal leaks. In older cars, the seals shrink, causing leaks. The stop leak makes the seals swell to their original size. 3) Use gasket sealant if the gaskets are old and leaking. Sealant, such as Permatex, is resistant to engine fluids, and will help repair a leaky gasket. 4) Replace the gasket, if the gasket sealant does not work. Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Ford mondeo 2008 mk4

petrol or diesel, diesel as had one of these wining sound on mine was the diesel pump seal ford wanted to put a new one on but found it was a seal they don't stock, but got a replacement from a bearings and seals company tool the old one in with me very cheap fix. if it is the power steering it would be the pump easy to change. esp light light you will need to have the codes read it could be throttle sensor as i had this fault on mine just clean d it out and put back on and worked fine after this. petrol engine never had one on this model. but you would still need the codes read can buy a cheap code reader and see what the problem is.

Hi i have a 97 ford mondeo 1.8td and it feels very under powered and i cant feel the turbo cut in atall but can hear it whistle on changing gear.can you help please?

I had a similar problem in my Mondeo 1.8 TD a few years ago and this was cured by changing the engine oil and filter to the correct type.

I had used the special Duckhams 10w-40w Turbo Diesel (or was it 15w-40w?)  oil but once I changed it to the correct Ford 5w-30w (Formula-E ) ordinary oil, the turbo worked a treat every time.( I understand now that there is an even "thinner" option that works even better so worth checking ....Something like a 1w-30w )

A strange answer I know, but true

The only reason I used the Duckhams was because the chap in Halfords said it was the best one for a Turbo Diesel

Ford Mondeo I can smell burning when i get out the car

you may be leaking something on the exhaust- probably power steering fluid or you may have run over something like a plastic bag and it stuck to your exhaust and is melting. you may want to have it checked because either could start a fire under the right conditions

My 2001 7.3 diesel is leaking radiator fluid quite bad. The engine is staying cool. Does it have a gasket that could be leaking & are there more than 1 gaskets?

Hello,It sounds like your water pump may be going out. If the water is coming from the front middle of the truck under the engine. If you can see exactly where your water is leaking from I can help diagnose your problem.
