Wheels, brakes · Check condition/thickness of front and rear brake discs · Check front and rear brake pads for lining thickness · Check tires for damage and condition · Measure tread depth, record in mm · Correct tire inflation pressure
Underside of Vehicle · Check for major components leakage · Check for chafe marks, line routing, damaged components · Check condition of front axle ball joints and rubber boots · Check condition of mechanical steering components and rubber boots
Engine Compartment · Check for major components leakage · Check for chafe marks, line routing, damaged components · Check and replenish all fluid levels · Change engine oil and filter · Check engine cooling system, antifreeze and corrosion protection · Check brake system · Check power steering · Check Active Body Control · Check windshield washer system · Check and correct battery fluid level · Check battery condition · Check catch, safety catch and hinges on engine hood for proper operation · Check condition of poly V-belt

I have a 2003 X-type Jaguar. The car is not running right. I get a message that says "engine system fault" and "gearbox fault". I noticed that when I plug my GPS adapter into the cigarette lighter, I have...

By plugging the GPS into the cigar lighter socket only takes power from the vehicle electronic circuit and is not connected to the vehicle engine management system, so i dont see how it can be connected. iSeeing as it is putting on the warning display it would be wise to get the car tested for faults using an OBD2/CAN reader, this should shed more light on the problem. Most mechanics have this reader .Hope that helps

Vw Passat 1998 B5 - Fail on display

The fail just tells you there is a fault and you need to find out what is causing it. In your case it is the airbag. It's over 10 years old and I'm afraid that's about the limit on an airbag. Sometimes disconnectong and reconnecting the airbag will fix it but don't hold your breath

Service Code

The maintenance service indicator shows the maintenance service type (letters A-H) in the multifunction display. This service type is only to give the customer an approximate time required to perform the required maintenance ranging from approximately one hour for Service A to approximately eight hours for Service H.

To determine the actual service items required, you must call up the service item menu in the multifunction display. Refer to instruction below.

Calling up the maintenance service data information

The maintenance service indicator shows the maintenance service type (letters A-H) in the multifunction display approximately one month before the service appointment is due in miles (distance criterion) or in days (time criterion).

This maintenance service type is based on the service items to be carried out. The service items are described in the Maintenance Booklet.

The service items to be carried out under the corresponding service type can be displayed in the multifunction display example Service "D" on my 2005 E320 4MATIC at 12,000 miles.
