If you never overheated the engine and it never froze, then most likely a freeze plug has failed. You will need to either pull out the engine or remove the transmission (easier) to inspect the rear of the block. About the only way to crack a block is running it without any water in it and super overheating the engine. If it is a freezer plug, then I would replace it with a brass one if available.
possible blend door in the dash is broke . when you turn blower on high it blows the door shut . i have the same issues and i have heard this could be the issue . especially since you said that you replaced everything except the blend door.
just about all thermostats can be found if you follow the top hose from the radiator to the motor. the thermostat will be located under the part that connects to the hose on the motor.
OK, Remove your t-stat, disconnect radiator hoses, drain radiator, and flush the heater core. now climb under the truck and you should find two (one on each side) coolant plugs. just unscrew them and let it drain out (into a pan I hope) good luck, really simple to do
