The center brake light is not on the same circuit as the brake lights, check the grounds at the taillight units, check for voltage at the sockets , then check the switch at the pedal itself, don;t forget the fuse

No rear running lights. Turn and brake lights work. what do I do

The tail lights are also called parking lights.
There is a 10amp fuse for each rear parking lamp. The fuses are in the rear fuse box. Your owner's manual will tell you where that fuse box is located.
The fuses get power from a park lamp relay.

How do I remove the rear bumper on a 2003 hyundai sonata

You have to remove four screws near the center of the rear bumper that are visible when you open the trunk. Then remove the inside upholstery cover for each rear tail light and then remove the four brass bolts that hold each rear tail light assembly. Unhook the wiring harness so the tail light assembly can be removed and laid aside. Then remove the two screws on each side which were covered by the bottom of the tail lights. Next, remove some of the upholestry retaining pins close to the rear tailights so you can access the spcae behind them. You need to remove two brass nuts close to the outer aspect of where the tailights are located and two screws that are located several inches farther forward that are holding the more frontal aspect of the rear bumper on each side. Finally, remove two retaining screws at the bottom of the most forward aspect of the bumper (wheel well) and one at the top of the most forward aspect of the bumper and you should now be able to remove it! Hope this helps! John in Lexington

I have replaced breaklight switch center light works but not the rearbreaks

check the bulbs with a meter, if they check out ok, look for a lose ground wire, while you have the bulb out check the sockets for power, while a friend applies the brake, if you get no power, and the center brake light works,, your going to have a pinched or broken wire leading to the rear of the car

How to get the tailight fixture off to change the bulb

Here, just follow this steps:

1. Locate the tail light on the rear of your vehicle. They are located on each corner and light up when you apply your brakes or turn signal.

2. If applicable, remove any mounting screws on the outside of the tail light.

3.
Open the trunk of your vehicle and locate the back of the tail light.

4.
Remove the socket and bulb from the back of the tail light by turning and pulling.

5.
Remove the tail light mounting screws or nuts.

6.
Push the tail light out from behind.

How to Change the brake light - 2004 Honda Accord

These are directions from Wiki plus my own recent experience. Open the trunk and look in the left or right corner closest to the rear of the car. You will see a 4x4 3/4 (approximate) plastic cover, pull firmly to remove the plastic piece (if covered) from the backside of the taillight. Pay attention to how it comes out too because you will have to match up the ends to put the piece back in correctly. My breaklight was the top lightbulb but you can locate the burned out bulb by pressing your breaklights (I used a stick to wedge the pedal). When you find the bulb that is burned out, twist the bulb by grabbing it at the plastic end (I had a little tab on mine to push in before I turned the bulb) and turn it counter-clockwise then pull it straight out of the plastic housing and replace it with a brand new light bulb.

Hope it goes as smoothly for you as it did for me!!

Left directional light intermittent to plain out...

I was once a fleet manager with many Jeep Grand Cherokees 1999-2002. We had TREMENDOUS problem with REAR tailight housings. It seem the tailight/signal/back-up light circuitry is embedded in the plasticx of the housing. NO WAY to repair. Replaced with a new one from Jeep. Problem gone. ( at least until the other side went bad ) Not a guarranty, but it's a good chance it has the same problem.

Breaklights

Chances are that the circuit boards that hold the bulbs behind the tailights are defective, as is common with these vehicles. They cost about $15 for each side from O'Rielly. Try that first. I'm pretty sure that is your problem. If not, you can always return the part.
