Your cars problem lays into the electrical system only. Wetness is causing a short. When you turn the key on and off for so many times the connections to the battery and starter get warmer each time in turn dries out the connections the contact is made so it will start.
If the car will not start at all when wet the plug wires would be at fault. Yours does start as you state so the wires are fine so far. I would check the connections of all wiring to the starter, battery, & alternator making sure they are corrosion free and tight
