Fan blower stopped working

clicking noise could be blower motor bearing failure or blower motor fan work itself loose.you can fix.removing lower instrument cover to get to blower motor.you need turn off radio first to keep from losing code then turn off ignition remove keys.you need to disarm airbags by disconnecting the negative battery cable wait 20 minutes before working under dash when done reconnect negative battery cable.when disconnecting negative battery probably have reprogram door locks.and the ECM has relearn memory. some times you have to reprogram radio also you can fix problem but many things has to be reprogram.if first time doing mechanic work best find good mechanic or let dealership fix.

sounds like too me that blower moter goen out. winding goen bad. best way to check for this too find the wires leading to the blower motor diconned the wire use volt meter to check ohm in windings. should hve reading of OL. if get readin other than that bsd windingds in it.

Check to see if u have power & ground to the blower with the fan on.if so u need A blower mtr

YOUR BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR IS DEFECTIVE. IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR THE FAN TO WORK ON ALL SPEED SETTINGS. ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IN THE DUCT-WORK NEAR THE BLOWER MOTOR YOU SHOULD SEE IT FASTENED BY TWO SCREWS AND IT WILL HAVE A THREE WIRE PLUG GOING TO IT AS WELL. HOPE THIS HELPS. KEEP ME POSTED. The blower fan fuse in a 30amp, light green in color. When the fan would not work, was there an abs light on or power windows or radio inop also?

it sounds like the blower motor went out....its on the passenger side under the hood held in by three screws and a plug. takes about 30 minutes to change it out.

there is a thing called a blower motor resistor that controls the fan on cars these days. they are usually in the air box. check with a dealer for your car. its easy to change.

I am sorry no one took the time to respond to this. I hope by now your family is back home and doing fine. Your Volvo needs a new blower regulator. This is a common problem with the newer Volvos.
