This has nothing to do with the shift solenoid switch. It is a failure of the ECM computer module. If your car is less than eight years old and less then 80K miles, it is covered by warranty

If not, the part is about $550.

Pressure Control Solenoid P2716

have the code checked especially if the car is out of warranty. If it is still under warranty take the car to the dealership . The Pressure Control Solenoid determines the quality and accuracy of the shift points and if you let it go the transmission will not shift properly after a period of time. The pressure control solenoid is used by the PCM to raise the mainline hydraulic pressure during high throttle - this increases the holding force on the clutches and bands and prevents slipping. The pressure control solenoid is controlled by pulses from the PCM and this in turn operates the boost valve insde the valve body.

The problem could be either in the PCM or it could be an electrical problem with the solenoid. As suggested it should be diagnosed by a transmission tech. They can check if the PCM is good by looking at the pulses with an oscilloscope at the connector and they should also be able to test the continuity of the solenoid. If the solenoid is faulty the valve body will need to be removed and the solenoid replaced.
good luck

My car is a 2007 Toyota Corolla LE . I did a diagnostic scan for my car. the code read dtc p2716

P2716 Pressure Control Solenoid "D" Electrical (Shift Solenoid Valve SLT).

There are 3 things it could be.
It could be your ECM, shift solenoid valve SLT, or open or short in the circuit. I would just recommend saving the hassle and taking it to an ASE qualified mechanic.
Here is what is happening...
The linear solenoid valve (SLT) controls the transmission line pressure for smooth transmission operation based on signals from the throttle position sensor and the vehicle speed sensor.

Pressure Control Solenoid D electrical fault (P2716)

There is a Bulletin on this concern, and it is a warrantable condition for 8 years or 80,000 miles so you are still covered by the factory warranty.
The problem is a logic issue in the PCM. The correction is a new PCM with updated software.

2005 Pontiac Vibe having trouble shifting 1st 2nd code P2716 MIL

This is most likely due to a bad solenoid pack in transmission. You could have tranny serviced and see if it helps. Poor fluid condition makes valves stick in those.

Check engine ligth on P2716 If I don't have warranty what can I do?. Can you still driving with this problem?

P2716 relates to the pressure control solenoid "D" electrical circuit. I think it's with the transmission. I will research it more.
