You might have a dry bearing in the alternator. I've had a squeaking noise from them.

Testimonial: "thanks! the noise is not constant. it cycles with the rpm's. it like squeak-squeak- squeak and progresses as the rpm's increase."

2008 Saturn Vue belt that squeaks when I accelerate, rpms go up to 6000 before shifts

When I have had trouble with V-belts squeal or serpentine belts the belt is loose need to adjust tension or tension pulley bad. Belt wore and needs replacing or some of the pulleys are dragging while rotating or turning, could be bearing for pulley going bad.
Check belt is tight, look of high wear a lot of cracks in the belt. You can try loosening the belt and turning the pulley which will turn and see if they odd sounds or stiff to turn.

I replaced the altenator and the serpentine belt two weeks ago. Now i hear a squeaking noise. I tried a spray for the belt but the noise is still there.

Check your tensioner pulley -- if you do not have enough tension on the serpentine belt, it will slip on the pulleys and cause a squeaking noise (very loud and high pitched). if you push on the serpentine belt with your hand, it should not more more than about an inch -- if it does, you are low on tension. If it does not have any give at all, then you have too much tension, and one of your pulleys might not be turning properly, causing that same noise. If your tension is right, and your car is still making that noise ... and belt dressings (the spray you probably used) are not working to stop it, then it might be a piece of rubber stuck on one of the pulleys, but this usually will not make that sound ... just smoke and a burned rubber smell.

Just recently bought a used 1997 Corolla earlier this year. We replaced the alternator belt after finding it frayed to spaghetti and didn't think to change out any other belt. With the cold weather rolling...

ok if it has a serpentine belt it would be flat with grooves on one side, and the other belt style is a v belt witch has a v shape surface that fits down in the pulleys. If it is the serpentine belt most likely it has an auto matic adjuster on it that means it keeps it to proper tention. But if it has v belt then look over the belt to see if it is cracked or frayed. it so replace. Also look for burnt marks on it where it may have been sliding on a pulley if so then you have one of the pulleys locking up and thans causing it to squeak. If you inspect it and it looks ok go buy some belt dressing at auto zone and spay it on the belts good it will take the squeak out. hope this helps

My ram squeeks when i start it up i have put on a new serpentine belt and replaced the pulley tensioer and it still does it only when it is cold though

hi, to find out exactly where the squeak is get a spray like wd40 and spray each pulley in turn until the noise stops this will then tell you if it is a bearing on the way out and where the exact squeak if its not on the pulleys then give the belt a little spray and see if the noise stops if its does then the noise may go after a couple of days after the belt has wore in a bit.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Sqeaky noise

U replace the tensioner or any belt run pulley only if the pulley has excessive wear or the pulley bearing has noise or excessive side to side movement, if the belt is squeaking and the pulleys it runs over are ok and don't have any of the above problems replace the belt, they should be replaced every 60,000 miles are sooner in dusty enviorments like dirt roads.
