The engine and battery light keeps coming on

This actuator is a very common problem for the Diesel Jaguar X-Type & S-Types Built between 2003 and 2007.

The fault causes the flashing glow plug light to appear and the engine to go in to "limp mode" the problem normally starts out as an intermittent fault but then becomes more permanent.

These Actuators control the waste-gate on your turbo and are not available separately from the dealer, you have to buy the complete turbo for a small fortune.

my jaguar 2.5 xtype wont reverse

I had this. The issue was resolved by the Jaguar Main Dealer by recalibrating the passenger seat weight sensor. The system is designed so that the passenger air-bag is disabled within a certain weight band detected on the seat (to protect babies in carry-chairs).

have you changed the battery first

remove negative battery wire for 15 min after 15 min then plug wire to battery check lightwill be trun off

you have a faulty diode plate in altenator................

discoonect the battery, turn the key 5-6 times to start then re connect battery. This will reset the computer and could reset the fault

disconnect the battery for 5 min's, if it doesn't reset u still have the problem.

you cant "unplug" anything on the car to disconnect the cruise,it can be taken off the V.I.D block by your local dealer on I.D.S.

None of the engine lights come on? And is the car hesitating when you press on the pedal?
