Check the front suspension ball joints and steering joints. Check wheel bearings and adjustment. Check shock absorber mounts for condition . Check steering insert condition and top mount rubbers and bearings if McPherson strut set up.. If you have a steering shock absorber then check it's condition and mounting

2005 F-150 sounds like front wheel bearing is bad. turn to the left and sound is bad. turn to the right and no noise

Looks like it's time for a right wheel bearing, or however many there are in the hub. I'm assuming you do not have a 4 wheel drive. Remember, if it makes noise when turning left, you are "loading" the right wheel bearing. ( Shifting more weight to the side inside your turn). Think this way. When turning left at a higher speed, the left tire might even come up off the ground! That puts all the weight on the right. If you've 4 wheel drive, could also be c.v. joints, or universal joints.

1999 ford explorer limited whining noise in front end

Whining noise is probably in one of the pulleys or belts. Probably the power steering. And the popping is probably CV axles.

I have a 1997 Explorer Limited AWD and it has a loud roaring sound coming from the left front axle. I have already replaced bearing assembly, but still have problem. Any suggestions?

Bummer. What I do is in a vacant lot, drive the car and steer hard left, then right. The thinking is to load and unload the bearing on each side. Sometimes the noise travels and can mislead you. If the sound gets quieter on a right turn, it is the right side bearing that is suspect.
Sometimes you need to put the car on a lift (ALL 4 wheels safely off the ground) and listen with a stethoscope....

I have a 2002 ford explorer. It has a humming sound when I drive it like it has oversize off road tires on it but it doesnt. It has BF Goodrich rugged trail t/a tires with 13000 miles on them. This is ...

Would sooner think wheel bearing, should be able to hear the noise or feel play in the bearing if jacked up. Abs light on? often a bad bearing will get metal in the sensor and turn on the ABS light also.

03 Trailblazer Front End Noise/Vibration

I had similar problem with my 03 trailblazer. It had a low dull hum in the front end with a little vibration being felt in gas pedal. Noise increased over a couple weeks and was louder turning to the left and quiter turning to right. A GM mechanic friend of mine replaced the front right hub and took care of the problem. Hub was about $160 at Autozone.
