HI. Here are a few details about this remarkable sensor and its functions.

This sensor monitors the temperature of the engine and sends that information to the engine control computer to regulate the amount of fuel needed. More fuel is needed if the engine is cold; less if it's hot. If the temperature is extreme, the signal will be sent to the temperature gauge as a visual indicator of overheating and imminent danger. The location of this device(Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor) will be on the passenger side of the cylinder head, under the third intake port from the front in the valley of the engine. White/violet, and brown/white will be the colors of the(2) wires that connect to the sensor.

  • NOTE: Be sure to purge the coolant system before replacing this sensor.

You guys are either not reading this right or don't know the answer. The cyclinder head temp sensor and the engine temp sensor are different. Now don't get me wrong because I don't know where my ets is on my 00 linc ls v8 either and could use some help myself because I'm no mechanic. If I may apologize as this could be the wrong thread but I need answers. Thank-you [email protected].

The CHT (Cylinder Head Temperature) sensor sends a
signal to the PCM (Powertrain Control Module), to the hydraulic fan
solenoid which enable the fans, see below.

The CHT is located under the intake manifold, in
order to properly diagnose you will need a NGS (New Generation Star) or
    equivalent scan tool.

    Hope this help.

I have a 2001 Lincoln Ls 3.9 V8 motor and I'm trying to locate the temperature sensor. But i am having trouble to locate that part. Can someone help

This engine does not have nor use a engine coolant temp sensor. It uses a cylinder head temp sensor. It is mounted under the intake which has to be removed to gain access to the sensor. It is on the drivers side head next to the intake ports

Is the cylnder head temp sensor and the cooliant temp sensor the same thing on a 2004 Lincoln ls 6 cyndler? Can't find the cooliant temp sensor everything redirects to cylnder head temp sensor even at...

cylinder head temp sensor measures the temp of the cylinder head metal itself and the coolant sensor measures the temp of the coolant only. the coolant sensor is mounted in the coolant and the head sensor is mounted only in the metal of the head and not into anything else. check with a dealer.

Were is the temp sensor on a 2002 lincoln ls v8

On the intake, Near the top radiator hose inlet, Note this model has 2, 1 Runs the guage, The other tells the pcm what temp the motor is for strategy. DO NOT REMOVE THIS WITH VEHICAL WARM OR HOT. IT WILL SPEW COOLANT IF YOU TRY, Allow vehical to cool all the way, And this is a very easy repair :) Good luck, God bless
