I have 2001 Acura rsx and my car wont stay in park. I am able to move myy shifter to park but as soon as I let go of my break pedal my car still moves. I am able to take my keys out of the engine so its almost as if my car thinks its in park but its not working!!! How can this happen?

if the car doesn't move then the speedo would not move, right? or do u mean something else? yours trans has failed or the trans digital range selector switch is bad, have a scanner put on the system and see if any trouble codes are present.

SOURCE: it wont let me move the shifter out of park

Shift interlock solenoid is probably bad.. there is a spot in the console if you look that will allow you to depress a tab that will allow the shifter to move.
