Take it to an authorized dealer (or a capacitated mechanic) so they can do a full scan through the OBDII port. EPC usually means some problem in the central computer, which usually can be solved via software (Using the VAG-Com software through OBDII), the scan can also tell you other problems in your VW.
Hi,
It is a wiring fault, but they are looking on the wrong end. You will need to have a VW dealer "repin" the electrical connector at the throttle body. What this means is, the dealer will take apart the connector, cut off the old pins and crimp on new ones and reassemble the connector. This is a common problem on drive by wire VW's. The dealer has a bulletin on the problem and I don't know why they missed it. They will probably have to order the connector kit however. Good luck!
Check your brake lights.if the bulbs blow this can induce a brake light switch fault, also the switch itself is a very common problem.this will put your EPC light on
My Polo had a similar problem and the brake light switch at the brake pedal was replaced. Then the computer was reset and the EPC light issue was resolved. It has something to do with the engine management, when sensing the light switsh being activated, retarding the power of the engine.
2 if all sensors are working good than check your engine firing sequence, some times happens when sequence was wrong,
3 check your exhaust and carborator tuning pin that creates the batter combination for firing in bore for batter performance & less emitions ,so check is it ok or not than go to your nearest service center that havad certified mechanics,
till you read this you had solve this problem definatly,
