Hi Mamaberta7,
The OD light flashing is something you need to have checked using a scanner. Since this trans. was recently rebuilt, you want to get it checked soon. The transmission can default to full line pressure and this can cause damage. Also if the unit isn't locking up, it can cause the transmission to overheat.
The airbag light on and the horn not working are probably tied into the clock-spring. This is the most common concern with the symptom you have. Again, you can have the code pulled to confirm the problem or you can use a DVOM (Digital volt/ohm meter) and check for continuity through the clock-spring. If you want to check it yourself, let me know and I will get you the steps to down the system and the wiring diagram.
If you have any other questions, drop me a line. Thanks,Chuck

To down the system you must

    1. Turn off all accessories.

    2. Turn ignition switch off.

    3. Pull fuse #26 (10a) from the interior fuse box.

    4. Turn the ignition switch on and watch the airbag light for

30 seconds. It should stay on solid if you pulled the right

    fuse.

    5. Turn the ignition switch off again.

    6. Disconnect the battery and wait for 1-2 minutes.

After you do that, you can remove the airbag from the steering wheel. Use a pick to remove the access cover.

    Next unplug the harness.

Then remove the bolts on both sides.

You can lift the airbag off now

and here is the wiring diagram for the airbag system.

Don't let the clock spring spin around. If it gets off center, the ribbon cable can snap in half. Good hunting, Chuck

Hi my 96 Nissan mistrial airbag light won't turn off when on I'm pretty sure it's effecting my horn not to work. I also have a problem when driving like it doesn't want to change gear so I use overdrive...

The air bag problem and the horn problem aren't likely connected.
You should always be driving in overdrive, but you likely have a vacuum line off that is causing the tranny problem.

I just bought a 2000 Saturn SL 4-dr sedan. It's in great shape, but the horn doesn't work and the dashboard light don't work. Is this a simple fix with replacing the fuses or dash light or is it a little...

Check fuse for horn and for dash lights. If the interior lights work then suspect dimmer switch for the dash lights. If you press the horn button do you hear a click under the hood or inside the car? If you do not then the fuse is blown and if the fuse is good then the relay may be suspected bad. If the fuse is good and the relay clicks then suspect the horn to be bad. If fuse is blown and you put a new one in and you push the horn and the fuse blows again, then disconnect the horn before replacing the fuse again. Then push the horn button and see if you hear the relay click if you hear a click the the horn is bad or wiring butmost likely the horn. If you have the horn unplugged and the fuse is good and you push thee horn button and no relay click suspect the horn button to be bad. Hope this helps.

2004 ford windstar, the airbag light is on and the horn will not work

As far as the horn, check for a blown fuse, if fuse is ok, locate the horn underneath the hood, check for power at the horn while someone else is pushing the horn. If you have battery voltage at the horn while someone else is pushing the horn, chances are you have a bad horn. Airbag light, check front impact sensors for damage or corrosion, unhook negative battery cable before touching the frontal impact sensors, Good luck, Gary

1997 Dodge Caravan Horn and Airbag light

It's the " clock spring " . Dodge has a lifetime recall / replacement on this part. Somehow it controls the air bag and is tied into the horn and cruise control .

Constant light on dashboard

My '01 TDI had the same issue and apparently it was a switch gone bad behind the horn and airbag. . . so no idea if the airbag would have worked had I been in an accident. Definately worth going to VW and having it looked at though. Better safe than sorry.

My ford windstar

Normally, there is no interdependency between the starter and the overdrive button.

However, assuming the problem could be a fuse; The fuses are usually located on the drivers side of the dash, on the lower portion on the dash. You should see a detent place to pull out a small cover about 5 inches square. When that is removed you will see a bunch of fuses, perhaps 10 to 15. There is usually a little tool on the back side of the cover you removed that aids in removing each fuse. If you pull each fuse and hold it up to the light you will see a small piece of wire. If you can see a gap in the wire, that's the bad fuse. Be careful when you reinsert the a good fuse, because there are usually some blank slots and it would be easy to put a good fuse back in the wrong slot.
If you find a bad fuse, there might be some good ones on the back of the cover you removed. If not, you can get a replacment at any auto store. The fuses are colored coded so be sure the replacement fuse is the same color as the bad one.

Hope this helps
