SOURCE: How do I know if my 2004 Rav4 has 4 wheel drive

check under the front and rear see if it has a transfer case with a drive line going to the front and rear. If there is no 4/4 button it would be full time 4 wheel drive. you can also check by jacking up the front and rear to see if the tires spin, If it was snowy out someone can stand outside the car and see if tires are spinning.

SOURCE: my toyota rav4 drives itself in seconed gear?

Is it a manual diesel? Because if so, then mIne's the same. I believe it's normal behaviour. You can get used to it after a while.

SOURCE: dont know what button on dashboard that is

The ECT button (which stands for "Electronically Controlled Transmission")
changes the shift points for the automatic transmission. When engaged,
the transmission shifts later, allowing the engine to get to a higher
power level and accelerate faster. Gas mileage is usually reduced in
this mode. Use it when you need to get up to speed faster; for example,
to merge into fast moving traffic. The normal position for this switch

Hope this help (remember comment and rated this post).

What is a whistling noise behind the dashboard?

Many controls are activated by a vacuum line from the engine. My wild guess there is a slit or bad connection somewhere on the way to the control system. Good ears or "hearing horn" should help you find the sound source.

I have a clunking noise in my steering when I turn the wheel at low speed

You need to replace the CV shaft boots. They're cracked and leaking grease that keeps your wheel bearings and CV joints lubed. If you keep driving, extensive damage may occur creating more issues!

DUE TO DEAD BATTERY 4WD WAS TOWED 25 MILES WITH

I don't have good news for you.
If you have an automatic tranny on your 4WD this is prohibited, per Toyota. It's your transmission that's probably making the noise. It's lubricated when the engine runs and the transmission pump is circulating oil through the system. During towing, when your drive wheels were spinning with the engine off, no fluid was being pumped through the system. Friction, etc. can quickly wear down bearings and seals, etc.

If this was towed professionally they should have known better... You might have a case due to professional negligence.

Hope this helps, but sorry.

2005 Toyota Matrix Making A Whistling Sound

Very possibly you have a worn or broken steering knuckle or balljoint. If you turn and hear clunking or clicking, then it is bad.
