1994 Park Avenue
the trunk actuator motor isn't pulling down the trunk, having problems locating the correct fuse for this motor, or is it tied directly into the power supply? tested the top and there is power running through the top switch peice but none going into the pull down motor...we also believe this may be the cause of a recent battery problem where the battery keep going dead on the car after a new battery and the like....any thoughts?

I had the same problem with my park avenue, to checked out the fuse under the hood and found it to be ok. I read where someone had taken the unit out of the trunk and took the motor case off and removed the armature. He said you could turn it by hand and raise the latch arm so the trunk would open manually. When i too the armature out i noticed one of the brushes didnt move to the center like the other one. The spring that keeps tension on the brush was behind the wire from the brush , and not letting it move ahead. I removed the spring and slipped it ahead of the wire and hooked it back in place and walla the brush moved towards the center like it should. I put the armature back in place by using a pic to hold the brushes away from the armature and put the can back on. YOU have to take loosen the screw on the black bakelite electrical part to get it out ot the way to take off and put the can back on. I put it back together and put it back in the car and plugged it in and it worked just fine. Pay attention to the way the retaining springs go when you take it off so you can put it back together the right way. I hope this helps its my first reply. My friends say i am the real magiver!!
