My 97 deville will not restart after I have driven it....the battery is fine. After it sets for awhile it will start back up!!!! Maybe it's cooling off? I don't know; but it may take an hour or more before it will re-start. it has the northstar engine. there are now warring signals that pop up on the dashborad to tell me what might be going wrong
Fault 1. The easiest fault to check. Do you hear a click then buzzing sound (the click is the pump relay and the buzzing is the fuel pump)? If no click then it's a possible faulty relay and if you get the click but no buzzing then it could be the pump.
Fault 2. You could have a fuel pump problem, when the pump is hot (after running) it is unable to deliver the required fuel pressure to start the car.
I'd check your pressure and if low replace the pump.
Your starter selonoid is going bad when it is heating up it doesn't work. Replace the complete starter.

You can rent a cooling system preasure tester at a parts store. These engines run so close to boiling that they must be able to hold presure or they overheat. Presurize the system and check for even the smallest leaks at all hose connections. I fought this problem for a long time before I figured it out.

Are you sure that you don't mean the cooling fan control module? It should be located up front next to the cooling fan. It is square shaped and has a long square shaped plug going into it. 
Reads the temperature of the coolant and passes the information to the engine control computer (ECC). The ECC receives analog information and signals the cooling fan switch to cycle the cooling fan on or off, as required.
