You would need to find something that is the same as sychromesh fluid that GM uses.

2005 chevy uplander ls no reverse

If your 2005 Chevy Uplander LS is not engaging in reverse, it could be due to a variety of reasons. Here are some potential causes and solutions:
  1. Low Transmission Fluid: Check your transmission fluid level using the dipstick while the engine is running. If it is low, add the necessary amount of transmission fluid to the appropriate level. A low transmission fluid level could cause problems with the transmission and prevent it from engaging in reverse.
  2. Transmission Filter: The transmission filter can become clogged and restrict the flow of fluid to the transmission. If the filter is dirty or clogged, it should be replaced.
  3. Faulty Transmission Solenoid: The transmission solenoid is responsible for controlling the flow of fluid in the transmission. If it is faulty or malfunctioning, it could prevent the transmission from engaging in reverse. A diagnostic scan can determine if the solenoid needs to be replaced.
  4. Broken Transmission Bands or Clutches: Over time, the bands or clutches in the transmission can wear out or break, causing problems with reverse gear engagement. If this is the case, the transmission may need to be rebuilt or replaced.
  5. Torque Converter: The torque converter can also cause problems with reverse engagement. It may need to be replaced or repaired.
It is recommended to have a professional mechanic inspect and diagnose the issue with your 2005 Chevy Uplander LS to determine the root cause of the problem and recommend the appropriate solution.

Hope I'm answering the correct 05 Colorado question. Sounds like your transmission is in the fail safe mode. First make sure your battery and charging system is in tip top condition . Then use a scanner or go to autozone and get code pulled for free . once you have done that we will determine what the codes are and take it from there.

2007 chevy colorado. Auto Transmission clunked during a couple of shifts then will only drive in second gear. Limp mode?? Has reverse, will drive in 1, 2,3, and d but in second gear. Got codes checked came...

Seam like transmission fluid is low.
-Start the engine, let it run for 10 minutes to normal temperature . Do not turn it off and check transmission fluid. If it's low add more fluid to full indicator. And try again.

Good Luck

How do you change the manual transmission fluid in a 2006 chevy aveo?

Hello,

In a manual car you do not change or flush the transmission fluid. the only fluid you change is the gear oil for the clutch. The manual transmissions do not have the ability to be flushed or changed as it does not have the same internals as an automatic transmission

Cheers!

No motor manual what type of transmission fluid is recommended

Check with chevy a dealership service (phone call) , there are 2 different types if your car is an automatic. If your car is a standard , it could be gear lube , or even Automatic trans fluid.
